Dianne was recommended by a moving company specializing in helping people ‘right size’. We were wary of Designers who made their disapproval of our taste clear (“very Forties”) and insisted we accept their ideas. I wanted my husband to enjoy the process and have his ideas accepted too. We were also concerned about the expense of a Designer ($1500 for a duvet cover! Really?) We moved from a Beaches Tudor style house to a modern condo. Thinking that our furniture was not too large, we moved most of it. It wasn’t right; some of it was too small! But we didn’t know what to do.
Enter Dianne. By talking, visiting stores, looking at magazines, she developed an understanding of our taste and budget. This is always her goal. It was fun! We kept the pieces that meant something to us. Then we chose tables, chairs, a headboard, and so on that fit with our desire for a more transitional look. I thought I was good with colour, but could not imagine how to work with our Isfahan carpet. Dianne found the colours we liked. The dining room chairs were exactly what we wanted – at a price we could afford. She supervised the placement of our pictures, including the most important ones. It is not conventional, but it works. She found a place for them all in attractive groupings When we moved on the apartment looked so good the agent said it didn’t need to be staged, and a bidding war ensued. The new condo was finished in a more traditional manner with built in wood cabinetry. The furniture looks perfect with it, all brought together by a wall colour Dianne suggested and people love when they walk in. My husband and I really enjoyed working with Dianne, and thanks to her, are truly comfortable in our new home.
